How do I book my place?

You can reserve a place in a course with a deposit of £50 up until three weeks before the beginning of the course. Full fees must be paid after that date.


Are the teachers native speakers?

Yes. All of our teachers are native speakers.

Who will be my teacher?

You will be advised who you teacher will be when you register for a course.

Do I need to sit a test for English courses?

Yes. It is a written and grammar test and then you have to meet with an English tutor for the oral part.


Do I need to sit a test for Foreign Languages?

No, if you are a Beginner. Yes, if you are not a Beginner and want your level assessed.


Is there a minimum age to study in a group class?

Yes, it's 16.

Where are the classes?

We have six classrooms in 48A Union Street, AB10 1BB (map link)


How many people will I study with?

Classes are minimum 4 and maximum 10 students


How long is a teaching session?

One class is 60 minutes long


What books will I need?

You will be advised of what books you will need for the course when you register.

Can I buy the books in your office?

Yes, we sell the course books


Do you give certificates?

Yes, we issue a Certificate of Attendance at the end of a course. Student must have attended 80% of the course. The cost is £5.


Is there an exam at the end of the course?

Yes. At the end of a course there is an exam which will evaluate the student's ability to progress to the next level.


What nationalities are students?

We have students from all over the world. You will study in a multi-cultural environment and get to know people from many countried like Mexico, India, Colombia, Poland, Venezuela, China, Hong-Kong, France, Italy, Spain, Malaysia, Perú, Germany, Iran, Algeria, Canada, Kazakhstan, South Africa, Greece, Rumania, Norway, Sweden, U.S.A, Uk and many other countries!


Can I cancel or re-schedule Private classes?

Yes but only with more than 24hours in advance. If a class is cancelled or re-scheduled with less than 24 hours notice it will be charged.


Can I study for the Cambridge FCE(First Certificate)?

Yes.

How much does the course cost?

For english language course prices

For foreign language evening classes (an 8 week course) the cost is is £195 (including VAT)


Does the price include books?

No. You will have to buy the appropriate books separately.


How can I pay?

You can pay with cash, cheques or Bank Transfer.

Do you accept cards?

No.

Do I need to pay all at once in advance?

Yes. You cannot study until Full Fees have been paid.


Can I pay in instalments?

No but you can pay for as many weeks as you like. The longer you study the cheaper it is.


How much is the deposit to book my place?

You can reserve a place in a course with a deposit of £50 up until three weeks before the beginning of the course. Full fees must be paid within three weeks of the start date.


How much is the Level Test?

It's FREE.

When do I have to pay Private classes?

You have to pay private classes one week in advance by the Friday prior to the first class.


Do I have to pay Administration Fees?

Administration Fees are included in the price.


Will I get a refund?

You will get a refund only if the course does not start due to negligence on behalf of Aberdeen Courses or the minimum number of students required is not reached. You will not get a refund for early leave from a course, late entry to a course and/or absences to a course. You will get a refund for the deposit.


When is Term-time?

The First Semester: 1st. September - 19th. December 2008

The Second Semester: 19th. January - 26th. June 2009

What are the times of the courses?

English Group Classes:

10am-12pm; 1pm-3pm; 4pm-6pm; 5pm-6pm; 6.30pm-8.30pm

Other Languages: Evenings only 6.30-8.30pm


When are you open?

The office is open Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 7:00pm except on holidays.


When are holidays?

22th September 2008 Aberdeen Public Holiday

22nd December 2008 - 2nd January 2009 Christmas Holidays

6th April 2009 - 16th April 2009 Easter Holidays

20th April 2009 Aberdeen Public Holiday

4th May 2009 Aberdeen Public Holiday

25th May 2009 Scottish Bank Holiday

Can I get a Visa if I study here?

We can issue a letter of enrolment when you register for a course. Please note we are not currently registered with the Home Office for Visa purposes.
